Whoopie pie

Two soft, cake-like cookies, most often chocolate, sandwiched around a sweet cream filling. It is a fixture of Pennsylvania Dutch baking and is claimed as a regional specialty by both Pennsylvania and parts of New England. Lancaster County hosts a festival built entirely around it, a single-day event in Ronks on September 12, 2026.
